An interesting lot I traveled into was at a Catholics Salsa Lesson, which Alan and I attended during the time I was learning about Catholicism in RCIA classes.
One of the individuals, whom Alan and I haven't spoken to for at least a year due to life, was skimming my blog last week and found himself on one of my Catholicism posts.
He commented with a link to this video and encouraged me to watch.
Watch I did.
Not only do I understand that there are differences between Catholics and Protestants, I also understand that while our differences may build tall, harsh walls around our churches, the true servant hearts that abound in our churches are the same.
I gather that many Protestants do not agree, but with an open heart and an eye willing to focus on the core of the thing, it's simple to see that we are similar.
Both Protestants and Catholics believe Jesus Christ died for our sins so that we may live with Him forever. For none of our works could earn us this salvation. It is only by faith, through grace, that this is possible in conjunction to Christ's resurrection.
I watched this video and was thrilled.
Protestantism has led to small churches in comparison with the Catholic Church. Consequently, I do admit that the Catholic Church has done more concentrated work for the world, showing Christ's love through actions.
There are things that each of us need to talk out and other things I do not believe to be truth in the Catholic faith, but I know for a fact that God is using the Catholic Church to further His Kingdom.
