Through the relationship, the Lord has really built up each of us individually, and as a witness to each moment in the journey, I can say it's so interesting to see personalities and perspectives enhanced and expanded through the years.
Currently, the Lord is working to mold us through a book, The Five Love Languages: by Gary Chapman. I would definitely recommend this book to any committed couple who want to learn how to help their significant other feel your love.
We learned the book was one we wanted to read, and I bought them for us for our 3 year anniversary in order to have a deep effect on our relationship past that special day!
As we have grown older, my family is also the same. We have discussed for the past two Christmases on how we really don't care about small petty presents anymore that will just fill our room... instead- what we really desire is something that fills our life.
I don't know about you, but to fill that void in my parents one year, I collected all the letters they sent to each other while dating and binded them together in a binder- creating an atmosphere for my dad to cry in during Christmas :)
Tears are the point to all Christmas presents, but I'm thinking this Christmas, I could potentially be a messanger the Lord wants to use in order to tell my friends and family something important- and who am I to hinder Him! So I've been looking through self-help books, Christian CDs, and small tokens of love to see if the Lord's love will be reflected to this pers through my use of time, energy, and money.
Just some food for thought, the best Christmas present money can buy is one that will humbly help the person, change their life, or help them feel the Lord's true love for them.
Merry Christmas my friends :) I pray your families are safe and words are healing this year.
