GCC Kids ProgramLast week, I went home and had an interview with Ted from Granger Community Church. He was interested in my work after a short conversation with a co-worker who I had sent my work to in order to find an internship from. Ironically, neither he nor I remembered that my father had worked with him at Bethel College, but the conversation went grand anyway. Afterwards, he was ready for me to commit to the program, which will include a comprehensive childcare portion, but I needed to sit down with God and find out what He wanted. After sitting in His peace, He showed me it was where I needed to be. So this summer I will be staying at home in Mishawaka, IN and allowing the Lord to work through me while I take photos, coordinate photo shoots with other employees, edit videos, and work with children for Granger Community Church. | Tomorrow starts the first day of Spring Break for Alan and I. Instead of letting this sad, gray weather get to us, the Lord has moved us to take on a missions trip with Cru. We will be going down to Panama City Beach, which college students know to be the best and craziest party for Spring Break. We will have sunshine, warm weather, over 1,000 cru participants, and tipsy college students abound. I will daily continue to update photos and blogs during this week so that all are able to understand what this mission trip is, and how it affects those who go on it. Cru Big Break | Cru Small GroupCamille and I went to Small Group last night, where Riley met us with warm conversation before we started into the book The Girls Still Got It by Liz Curtis Higgins. The book is taking us through the book of Ruth word by word, in order to understand the context, culture, and depth of the story. Last night, it was uplifting to talk about how sitting in the Lord's presence is the safest and most rewarding place to be, no matter how bad it looks. I pray that you sit still this week, in His presence, and in each moment- know that it is a gift from Him :) |
