The women and men racing are friends of ours, making it an even more difficult decision: but the finances rationalized our thinking... we will attend the free festivities and nothing more.
Throughout this past year, it has been a struggle to stick to the budgets my mom and I laid out and in the mess of breaking down to buy my Apple Fusion Chai Tea comfort drink at Starbucks and feeling some remorse for spending money where I never needed to, I've learned some good life lessons.
1. Every dollar needs to have a purpose. or else it will disappear.
2. Use cash for spending money because you see the consequences.
3. No matter how hard you try, as humans we will fail.
I fail. I fret. I fight. But throughout this past semester, the Lord has continually humbled me and drawn me closer to lean on Him. Elohim- the One who never fails, keeps His promises, and renews all that we break.
